An Unforgettable Journey to Turkey: 12 days
In the footsteps of the apostle Paul in Turkey (first 3 journeys) and the 7 Churches of Asia Minor
The apostle Paul (Saul) is one of the most influential figures in the formation of bringing the word of GOD and the good news to the Jews and Gentiles after Jesus himself. Asia Minor, today’s Turkey, is where many of the events associated with Paul’s life and ministry took place. During his three journeys Paul spent most of his time – around 60%- in Turkey. Paul was a native of Tarsus in the south of Turkey.
In this amazing Bible experience, we will
1) Follow in his footsteps (three journeys) in Turkey from Antioch to Troas. Apart from the sites that Paul visited, we will also see some of the original Roman roads upon which he walked. In the museums that we will visit, we will encounter the artefacts that the apostle Paul saw and touched.
- We will visit the Seven Churches of Asia Minor according to the book of Revelation: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. We will learn about the message of Jesus had for each church. I promise you that in this experience, the Bible will come alive!
Day 1: Arrive at Istanbul Airport – Fly Hatay
Upon arrival to Istanbul, you will take a connecting flight to Hatay. Your tour guide Isaac Karasenti will meet you after the baggage claim at Hatay Airport. Meet and transfer to the Grand Bogazici hotel Antioch (36 Km= 40 min drive) for dinner and overnight. (D)
Day 2: Antioch – Pozanti
Depart from Grand Bogazici hotel. Drive to Seleucia Pieria (35 Km) visit Seleucia Pieria the port city of Antioch. See the ancient harbor and Titus tunnel. Drive to Antioch to Church of St. Peter (35 Km) a grotto discovered by the Crusaders and reputed to be the cave church where early Christians met in secret. Visit St. Peter”s Church and learn about the Biblical importance of Antioch. Drive to Tarsus (240 Km including 1 hrs lunch break). Visit Tarsus the city where the Apostle Paul was born. You will visit the Church of St. Paul as well as the recently excavated remains of the Roman Tarsus in the town center. You will take a short walk to the site known as the Well of St. Paul. Drive to Pozanti (80 Km)
Dinner and overnight at Pozanti, a beautiful city in the mountains. (B, D)
Day 3: Derbe – Listra – Iconium (Konya)

Turkey and Greece: In the footsteps of the apostle Paul (Saul) in Turkey and Greece: 13 days
In this amazing, unforgettable experience we will follow in the footsteps of the apostle Paul (Saul) in all his journeys in Asia Minor – Turkey & Greece! This journey will take us from Antioch to Troas (part of first and second and third journey), and then- from Philippi to Corinth (second and third journey) . We will visit all the cities that he visited, learn about the letters written by him to these cities, see the places where he used to talk to the people (first to the Jews and then to the gentiles), taught them about the word of GOD and about the good news about Jesus the Messiah. We will see some of the original 2000 years old Roman roads upon which he walked and visit the ruins of some of the synagogues where he taught and where sometimes the local communities wanted to kill him.
In the museums we will encounter the artefacts that he saw and touched.
I promise you that in this amazing experience you will have a much better understanding of his missionary journeys and his messages to the people!
